Aberdeen City Council
Aberdeen City Council is responsible for all local government services in Aberdeen and is the city's largest employer with over 12,000 employees.
Project Objective
Aberdeen City Council had a requirement to enhance communications, offer online services and to generate continuous improvement along with efficiency savings. Development of their eBusiness Strategy commenced in 2003 / 2004 and this led them to instigate a competitive tender for a partner and solutions that were capable of meeting their demanding needs. While Aberdeen City Council had a broad range of requirements which were closely tied to the Electronic Government Interoperability Framework they also sought a proven future proofed solution and a partner who had demonstrated the capability to continually innovate. The eBusiness needs of Aberdeen City Council included both intranet and Internet developments. Aberdeen City Council had a requirement to empower knowledge workers throughout the Council to author content to the intranet and Internet so factors such as ease of use and professional help desk facilities were hugely important. C2 Software proved that they had the capability, support and a forward thinking strategy to assist in the delivery of both projects. The Activedition CMS from C2 Software provided a platform to empower, control, extend and track the Council's eBusiness.
